Every wonder, how do you take those garish little blocks of polymer clay and turn them into sheets of subtlety, depth, and shimmering beauty ? Or depending on your personal style, turn them into even brighter, eye popping, screaming sheets of color ?

In this demonstration, I  will share what I have learned in working with texture on polymer clay. Using household objects, rubber stamps, and commercial texture sheets, I will demonstrate ways of applying texture to polymer clay. Then using acrylic paint, mica powders and liquid polymer clay, I will show techniques to add interest, depth and excitement to the textured clays.

Used in Demo:

Tools:

Regular clay working tools

Objects to apply texture to clay

Small paint brush

Spray bottle or water mister

Sandpaper 400 to 1000 grit *

Materials:

Polymer clay, any brand (metallic and faux stone clays are fun)

Premo or Kato brand metallic or pearl clay

Acrylic paint *

Mica powders *

Liquid Polymer clay (TLS, Kato or Fimo, each brand gives a different result)

* Victoria will have some to share
